I have a file that I made with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. It is 3.7 GB. Type is C2D. It's a disc image file, right? It even has the disc image icon in front of the title. But when I try to burn it, I get "Invalid source . . . Valid sources are a drive, a DVD-video folder, or a disc image file." And when I go directly to my disc copier software and browse for this file, I get that it is "Not a valid disc image file." What is it then??? And can I turn it into a "valid disc image file? "

I'm hoping someone out there understands this error message and can help me, please.

    Hi, aks. :)

I do not think "C2D" is a disk image file format. One of the most common disc image file formats for data discs is .ISO
I suggest you search your Roxio help documentation for instructions about creating a "disk image" or "image file ".

    c2d and iso files

That is so interesting, Mailman, because the other disc images I've made with Easy Media 7 do end with .c2d and function just as they're supposed to. Mmmmmmm, ok, I read the Wikipedea link you sent, and thank you for that. I guess now my question is how do I convert my c2d file that doesn't work (so obviously was not made the same way I made the others) to an ISO file? Is that possible? Do you know about that? Anyone else???

Alice, I suppose .C2D might be a Roxio proprietary image format and I suppose it might have been corrupted during creation.

I am not very familiar with Roxio. Only used Roxio a few times (not for image files though) and I have since uninstalled it. I'm sorry I can't be of much further help at the moment. :(

I am not familiar with IsoBuster but it appears it might work for you.

EDIT: If you still have the data you used to create the .C2D image, then perhaps you can use Roxio to create an .ISO image instead. Perhaps Roxio has a "verify" feature you can use to ensure the data is written properly.

Just need to identify the contents

Thanks for your suggestions, Mailman. I'll have a look at that ISO Buster. I probably do have the original Video-CD on a disc, because that's what I do. I create DVDs of our trips and burn them to discs to share with people who go with us. The trouble is I can't identify the contents of this problem file. In fact, that's what this is all about: I'm just trying to identify the contents/the trip. I figured I'd burn it to a disc and see. Then, I'd know whether I can toss it or not.
