Please verify that the system date and time are accurate, and that you can sync with internet time, reboot if anything was changed, then try Windows Update again.

Please elaborate. Is/was the system date or time incorrect? Will it not sync with internet time?

The first time i tried to sync the time, it failed. Just said "sync failed" then the second time i tried, 30 seconds later, it updated and synchronized without any trouble. I just did it again and the time synced with no issues.

    Hello again.

I was just looking at my host file and it seems a little bit empty. Here is what it looks like.

    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost

Does this look right to you? Shouldnt i have a few microsoft ones in there?

That is a normal default HOSTS file. There would only be other entries if you added them manually or were using a custom HOSTS file.

I've had some very long days at work lately and just haven't found the time or energy to doing anymore researching on your problem, but I will continue to search for an answer. ;)
