setting up Netgear DG834G Modem/Router

Have taken the plunge and bought my first computer! It runs Windows XP and i would like any help and advice to get me online using a Netgear "DG834G" Modem/Router. My ISP is Tiscali. I really am a old n00b. Thanks all

 

These routers are actually very straight forward to set up.

Let's start by identifying the router and where you can get the manual:

If you go to page 1-3, there is a good description of how to set up the unit. To be honest, if I were to give you step by step instructions, I'd simply be repeating what is written in the manual.

Therefore, I suggest you work through the steps in the manual and post back if you get any problems. We'll then be happy to help you out.
