    Hi

I've just downloaded Windows Live Messenger - but it won't let me sign in - each time I try get message that it's stopped working. windows closes the program and another message appears about Data Execution Prevention. I've tried to follow the help instructions but to no avail.

Please does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

I don't know how Data Execution Prevention works on Vista ... :( ... but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

    Hello Bubs,

    See how DEP is set:

Via the Control Panel (set it to Classic) > System > Advanced system Settings > in the System Properties Dialog box > Advanced tab > 1st section Performance > Settings bar > in the Performance options dialog box > DEP tab.

What should be ticked is "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only ".
