I have about two dozen audio cassette tapes that I have accumulated over the years. I have some good music on these tapes. The new car that I recently purchased does not have an audio cassette player in it. New cars these days don’t come equipped with audio cassette players. I have a CD player in my new car. My question is this. What is the most inexpensive and
convenient way to transfer the music on my cassette tapes to CDs. Thank you very much. abm

If you have the lines to connect your cassette deck to your computer, you can import your music directly onto a computer (via a program like Audacity), then burn your own mp3 onto a cd. I dunno if $150 would ruin your budget or not. I did it with my dad before, although I forget what needs to get plugged into what.

As for recording software, I use this great little recorder. It's free but they have one you can purchase for only $30. Use the options to fine tune it to your specs. Here's the link: http://www.roemersoftware.com/index.html
