    Couldn't you test this?

But yes - it will run ok. 1 gig is better...

I would say 512MB is not enough. 1GB is enough. I have 2 laptops one with 1 GB that runs perfect and the other with 512 MB and it is slow after I installed SP3. I will upgrade my RAM from 512 to 1GB. No need for 2GB ram. Virtual memory using HDD will still slow down your system and 1 GB is the answer. Hope this help.

My eMachine box came with 512 DDR and runs XP with SP3 OK. It's a bit slow sometimes and I may go to the max capacity of the motherboard (2 meg) sometime soon.
