Hi, When i'm have a game going mostly flight simulator for no reason it will minimize the game back to the desktop. I can open the window of the game back up but after awhile it will minimize again. Any ideas? i have shut off the screen savers so i know thats not the problem. I have maxed out the memory to 3gb and upgraded the video card to a Radeon HD 4350 but that didnt make a difference.

    Any advice would be helpfull.

    Thank you.:D

Did you update the Radion drivers from their website?
A lot of times those video cards have mega bugs in them.
Uninstall the radion drivers, turn off all antivirus and firewall
    Re-install radion drivers.
Then turn antivirus, firewall back on
Are you SURE the power supply in your computer has enough watts to power the video card?

yes the video card has the newest drivers and it calls for a 300w power supply and the computer has a 350w. this problem started before replacing the video card i was just hopeing that upgrading the video card the maxing out the ram might help.

Your computer might not have enough power with a 350 watt supply.
The motherboard and processor alone will use about 250 at least.
BUT... do you know how to open the bios setup?
You may need to set the correct configuration for the video card in the bios. A lot of times you can reset the video aperture to a larger size using the bios setup. This increases the video memory.
How many MB is your video card?
OR instead of using the game full screen, try reducing the window size to 3/4 or 1/2 screen or even smaller.
and then check if the same problem happens.
If a p4 processor overloads the cache memory, this could be the problem. reducing the screen size may prevent it from overloading the P4.
This is why gamers use quad core processors. The P4 does not have enough capacity to run complex video full screen sometimes.

thank you nicolatesla you were right. i ran flight sims in window mode and it did'nt drop once. I also looked at system monitor and the cpu was at 100 percent with flight sims in window mode so i guess i'm just tryng to get more from the computer then it has to give.

    thanks again

Exactly! The cache of the P4 is only 1 MB and you need like 3 or more MB. But if you reduce the window size the cache requirement is reduced. As soon as the P4 goes 100%, the window drops off the screen.
You need a dual core processor or a quad core.
Unfortunately, you will also need a motherboard and fans and a power supply to match.etc....
Find out how big a window you can use before the thing drops out. Upgrading the processor alone will not do much good. (a big monitor DOES help)
I already tried it, and came to the conclusion of
AMD phenom II X4- $150 6 MB cache
Computer is expensive habit. But fun Hobby.
