Resolved Computer reboots repeatedly just before welcome screen

My computer keeps rebooting each time I start it up in Normal Mode right after the XP loading screen just before the welcome screen should appear. I can successfully boot into Safe Mode. I tired disabling the automatic restart on system failure and it just hangs with a black screen at the same point.

What can I do to get back into Normal mode.

 

Yes, I have tried the Last Known Good Configuration without success. I do have a CD which I can boot from ... Actually I have 2 but the first one wouldn't show a repair option when I get to that screen but the second one allows it. The only problem with this CD is that when I try to do a repair it seems to have a problem with the files being copied near the end, I suspect due to a fault in the CD but yet when I tried previously to do a clean install it would copy the files perfectly so I not sure what the problem is.

So far I have performed the commands given, rebooted but I am still unable to get into windows Normal Mode. Do you think I could be infected with some sort of Malware or Virus? I can't think of what else could be causing me not to able to boot windows normally.
I am willing to attempt the repair and see what happens but i await your response.

 

I tried the repair and now it keeps hanging and/or rebooting during the installation so it seems worse now cause I can't do anything including get into safe mode.

 

I'm using a desktop and I have already unplugged all devices that were unnecesssary.
At present setup is copying the files and after it is finished I get the message "setup cannot set the required Windows XP configuration information. This indicates an internal setup error. Contact your system administrator. "

This is really frustrating but I believe that Seven Transformation Pack did this to my computer because if started behaving funny and when I did a virus check it cleaned/quarantined files belonging to this pack and I couldn't get it uninstalled and I believe that could be the culprit but I am still at a lost as to how to solve this problem.

I have basically backed up all that I need already on to this laptop I am presently using. I was honestly hoping that I wouldn't have to lose the information on the drive and have to install all my programs etc but if that is the only way then I guess I have no other choice.

I am not sure about the BIOS version etc. I mean everthing was working very well before I installed Seven Transformation Pack and then encountered trouble.
I don't have anything extra hooked up to the system at present.

The latest is that I have been getting the error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL at 34 mins left in the repair/upgrade installation or the computer reboots.

I have been using the Shift-F10 feature to bring up the setupapi.log and deleting the .inf files that are creating the errors and restarting accordingly. I have not been able for the most part to get the regional settings etc but then I sometimes get the i8042prt.sys stop error which I don't know how to solve. If and when I get pass that one it stops anywhere in the regional settings where I have to type but that error as far as I can see points to any particular .inf file in the log so that one has me beaten.
That's the latest, I am ploughing on without success. I must also add that this is very frustrating, I've been at this for a number of days now.
P.S. I am not sure if I should delete the machine.inf since that one came up as culprit as well.

After ploughing through I can now get as far as 'registering components' but it is still giving me bsod (Stop: 0x000000d1) with the same error from earlier, so I am hoping for the best. I have to go out and buy a new keyboard to see if that is part of the problem.
I must also state that in between I am still getting bsod while devices installing and so forth so I know that something still isn't right, may be its the keyboard.

 

I replaced the keyboard and mouse without success. I gave up on that installation and used another CD which went a lot better but as soon as it got to the end when it was deleting temporary files the screen went light blue and hang there. I rebooted and when it got the XP screen with the blue light going acroos it rebooted. I then realised that it was booting from a previous installation (c:\windows) so i changed the this one and the registry file for System\Software was missing. I went in the Recovery Console to restore it from the repair directory, but to my surprise there was none in there. The only place that had registry files where in the previous installation we were working on earlier. When I copied thos ones into the location and reboot, this installation is behaving the same as my original c:\windows (rebooting at xp screen).

I am presently trying another installation from the 2nd CD I told you that went pretty well with only a few hiccups. I'll see how it goes.

I got the installation to complete but when the system restarts it keeps continuously rebooting right before it should bring up the XP logo with the blue light running underneath.
I am at a lost as to what could be the problem.
