my document folder on desktop

    please help, i seem to have played with my desktop setting's in winXP pro, and now i can't display my desktop wallpaper, all i can see is one of my folders (an empty one) and i can't seem to get rid of it, it might be easier to delete the partition and start again, unless someone can help me, thank's in advance, reg:(

    If you just got this prob reboot, tap F8 until the menu appears, select "last know good boot" or something like that:D [enter[

    How about using System Restore to a point where all was running smoothly?

    What does this "folder" look like? Do you have Common Tasks along the left border of the screen as you do in other folders?

    hi guys and gals, thank's for all your reply's, Abraxas is the closest, yes this is my problem:( well! used to be. last night my Jedi Outcast 2 kept crashing:confused:, so i just re-installed the O/S, having an athlon thunderbird 1700XP with 512 DDRram, it only took 20 mins at most:D , now everything is fine:) .
    still, if you can explain what my problem is Abraxas, i would be forever in your debt, just incase it happens a next time!!:eek:

    No idea what causes this. It is not an uncommon problem, however, so if you determine a cause, please let us know.
    Download this little VB script and run it the next time it happens. It should clear it all up for you.
