    Do you mean that you want to make an image of your C:\ drive for recovery purposes? Such an image must be stored on another drive or on DVD - not on the same drive/partition as Windows is installed.

    To do that you require third party software such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost.

    Or do I misunderstand your question??
