I am running Windows XP Professional. When I turned on my computer it seamed to begin the start menu and showed the wallpaper on the screen then went to the blue welcome screen. Then it went to the administrator acreen. When I click administrator it begins to load personal settings but returnes to the blue adjinisgtrator screen. The only option is to turn off the computer. Does anyone have an idea how to get past this?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Can you start the computer in Safe Mode?

Hi flyfish7. Welcome to Windowsbbs. :)

In addition to trying Safe Mode Press F8 on startup and try choosing last known good configuration. Can you log into the administrator account now? Do you have a Windows XP CD you can boot from?

I can start in safe mode and I chose the last known good configuration option. Whether I let the computer start normally, start in the safe mode, or log on through the adminisrator box, it goes through the same process. The windows logo screen appears and it looks normal. It showes my monitors wallpaper then goes to the blue welcome screen with the administrator icon. I never set up an administrator password. I can bring up the administrators log on box, leave the passwork box empty, and click ok. It goes through the same process described above. It always comes back to the administrator screen until I get frustrated and click the log off option.
I do not have a Windows XP disk. I can probably find one.
Please let me know if you have any ideas to correct this.

flyfish7, I am a little unclear on what you mean. Could you clarify your post? Are you saying that you get logged off right after you log into the administrator account?

I can not log on as another user. I never created any users. I did not set up an administrator password.
The computer does not really log on. It opens up shows the windows logo, then shows the wallpaper, goes to the blue welcome screen with the administrator. The only option that works is to log off.
I log on in safe mode and I get a screen with a list of error codes about multi disk partition winT\system32. That stays displayed for a few seconds then goes to a screen with copy at the top that I can not read because I can only see half the letters at the top of the screen.
If I leave the computer, the windows logo screen saver comes on. It is not my designated screen saver.
Is there something I can download on another computer, put on a zip drive and use to start my computer?

Oh boy. It looks like your are SOL without a Windows XP CD. Do you think you could borrow an XP CD from a friend or coworker?

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I took the computer in and they tried to boot it. They tested the computer and there was something wrong with the motherboard. It will cost more to repair than it is worth.
Now I am looking for a good deal on a new desktop computer.

Sorry about the computer. But as the saying goes you can't win every battle. :( Hopefully you will find a good computer that will suite your needs, good luck. :)
