I've got the Windows "classic" start menu running on my XP machine, and every other day or so for no apparent reason, the start menu becomes "truncated" -- meaning, only part of it shows up on screen, with little >> signs at the end of it. If I click on those >> signs, then the full start menu is displayed.
Up to now, the only way I've figured out to correct the problem is to do a system restore to an earlier point in time when the Start Menu was behaving normally. But I'm getting tired of doing system restores all the time.
Anyone have any idea what the problem is or how to fix it?

"Personalized Menus" is Microsoft's clever term for "We're only going to display the last (?-number) of programs you used unless you scroll down or click on the >> to see them all." That, you see, makes it "personalized" to your application-using history.
