I recently formatted my computer and I'm already having a weird problem, after googling for a while I've noticed lots of people with the same problem but I wasn't able to find a solution yet.

Everytime you plug a USB device you should get the New Hardware Found notification and then most of the time the devices installs it self without any prompt, but on my computer even if I plug in a simple mouse, I get the Found New Hardware Wizard popup, and after manually following the steps I get the "has not passed the Windows Logo testing" popup. Even if I fully install the mouse and then plug it in to a different USB port I get the same thing again. And this happens for anything that I plug on the USB ports. I know Windows should do all that automatically and the "Windows Logo" error shouldn't be there, but for some reason it's happening on my computer.

Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

Here's 2 pics of the popups:

    Welcome to WindowsBBS:)

Did you install the chipset drivers for the mobo and Windows updates after the format?

I believe so. There's no mobo drivers to speak cause it's a laptop but there's a "INTEL Inf Update" on the drivers page that I installed.

Laptops have mobos too...Check the makers web site and see what other drivers they have. Many have special/seperate drivers for USB.

MS has also issued a couple of USB updates for XP.

Well all the drivers from the website are installed. But I don't think that's the problem. I had this happened to me before on a Desktop. At the time I just disabled the prompts but i'd really like to know how to properly fix this.
