For some reason when I click on Search to locate a file or program, nothing happens. There is absolutely no response as in the past. Can someone direct me to a possible fix?
    Thanx in advance.

joem - Welcome to the Board :)

    Two possible solutions .....

    Start > Run > type %SystemRoot%\Inf > OK

The inf folder will open - navigate down to srchasst.inf, right click on it > Install - this fix requires your XP install CD, retail not Recovery

Alternatively use a far better search engine than the native one in Windows - I highly recommend AgentRansack (freeware) - I have used the Pro version for years without issue.
