The Zone Alarm inability to play nice with Microsoft turned out to be a catch 22 for me. After the conflict, without internet and email, I had no way to tell what the problem was. Many local techs later I had the C drive formatted and WXP SP2 reinstalled with the drivers I needed. There are two things that I cannot duplicate to the level they were before and would really appreciate some help:

    1. When I open up Windows explorer it shows all the hard drives, removable drives, etc. but only the C drive is expanded to show all the files on the C drive. I have lost the command line to stop that, can anyone help?

    2. My home network is messed up. My wife and I each have a desktop and we share an HP 2200D printer. I do not seem to be able to set my newly formatted computer up to join the network and have access to the printer. Are there simplified instructions available somewhere on how to fix this?

    Thanks.

If you do not want C:\ drive expanded when you open explorer the command line for the shortcut is ....

    %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe

The command line for what you are now seeing is ....

    %SystemRoot%\explorer.scf

    Other command lines here ....

To setup your computer on the network run the Network Setup Wizard - on your computer only.

    Reference here ....

I have edited your title to reflect your problems more precisely.

    Thanks!

Your directions got me on the path to fixing my last two problems. All is right with Win XP, ZA and the world....for the moment. I'd like to be able to repay the help, but my computer knowledge seems stone-age compared to the suggestions made by some of the members. Thanks again.
