Desktop icons changed

Since recovery processes from virus invasion, most of my desktop icons now have a green tick in a corner of the actual icon logo. Does not seem to affect operation but is annoying. Anyone seen this? Solution?

Thanks, Bill

My System
An Arrow on a shortcut that you created is the default - I wonder if the recovery process restored a change you made to remove the arrow such as using Tweak UI - screenshot.
