Hi , I saw Arie sticky for slipstreming windows xp with sp3 . I am having a little problem here in doing so . Can someone point out as to what I am doing wrong ? At the moment my sp3 in on my M drive and so is the content
of my windows xp . What I have so far is the following . Sp3 name is windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4

This is on my M drive not where windows is normally installed on ( C ) . Now I name a folder call " XP " and place in there the content of my Windows xp original disk . My problem is I can't do the cmd part . What I enter there is the following

    windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /integrate:M: \xp-cd

Afterwards I get windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe is not recognized as an external or internal command , operable program or batch file .
Where am I going wrong here ?

    Thanks

You are not using the correct file name for the SP file. You must use the file name and the extension, as it is given on your drive. You said it was:

windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4 so perhaps you don't have your system configured to show the extension. In that case your file would be:

    windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe

That would make the correct command be:

    windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu_c81472f7eeea2eca421e116cd4c03e2300ebfde4.exe /integrate:M: \xp-cd

I would suggest that you rename the file to something more sociable, perhaps rename it to windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe so it conforms to the standard name for this download and will allow you to follow the directions as given.

If that doesn't work, you will need to download the SP3 file again to get the correct one. Your download may not have come from the official MS site and may be corrupt or infected.

Then when you run the command, be sure you are resident on the drive where the file is located.

Hi , Okay so I re downloaded again from this link below
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en

After it loaded I don't see the exe extension , Its like this WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU But that link show the correct file to download with the exe

I saved on my M drive . I didn't place it into a folder just on the drive itself. I'm curious as to why the last part should be XP-CD ? I mean I make a folder call " XP " and place all the stuff that was on my retail xp disk .This to is on my M drive . So now when I go to cmd this is what I place there now
    WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe /integrate:M: \xp-cd

I'm still getting the same problem as above . Again I need to know where I am going wrong ? Should there be any space between this line to enter in the cmd ? Also when I open the cmd do I just place that line in ? Or do I do something else first ? Thanks

If your folder is named XP and not XP-CD then you must change the command script to:

    windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /integrate:M:\xp

    Voila!

BTW, your script has an inappropriate space after M: which would mess it up also.

That doesn't work . If I enter first the M:\ then add the rest that will extract but I get the error above

You must run the script from the M: drive when the prompt shows M:\>

The it must be as I gave it:

    windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /integrate:M:\xp

That's nice to hear! You can thank Arie for the most part. I just coached a little from the sidelines. The article he made available makes the job as easy as possible.

    All the best, Dude
