Ok, so i went to burn a CD just now... and it became a coaster.... problem is it was a multisession and I can no longer access the stuff from previous sessions (which i would like to keep) either. what can i do to get to these files? My CD, DVD burners wont even read it... my DVD one said it was corrupt or using a format not compatible with windows (?????). the CD one just basically froze. I was hoping it would at least open so i could copy paste the files and hten reburn a new CD with everything... no dice.

HELP!! Multisessions shouldnt be allowed if the one session craps out they all arent accessable anymore... thats just not right. makes sense to not access the ******* session, but all of them, including successful ones.... what the heck?

small update... luckily i saved the ISO before closing nero.... so for kicks i attempted opening the iso and reburning... and due to a fluke in technology i can now open the CD (even tho the burn process failed that time too)... but alot of the things wont copy paste.... theyre saying the parameter is incorrect? (trying to paste to teh desktop)

    Hi Mel,

You could try Undisker which is able to open iso files and extract data via drag and drop. No guarantees that it will help you but it's free to try shareware. It works great on healthy iso's but I don't have a hosed one to test it one.

you were right, it doesnt work on a broken one.

I have a question though... to keep this from happening in the future... since an ISO needs the CD to read the data from previous multisessions... is the best way to avoid future coasters to copy everything to the hard drive, burn whatever else onto the multitask just in case? It just feels like id need to format way more often if i did it this way... but its the only way i can think of.

I think that would be the safest way, other than avoiding making multi-session CD's altogether, as I do.

I hate to hear that the Undisker couldn't get your data but thanks for the feedback nonetheless.

i tend to multisession because i dont want to only use like, a quarter of a CD and thats it. id rather use up the space later. Is creating an image before burning another option? which is faster generally? lol. or are they technically the same thing?

Just a suggestion, purchase a USB Flash drive. It allows you to store info off your computer, add / delete data with no fuss of a CD / multi-session process. Put a few folders on it and store / edit your projects until you have enough to burn a CD. I'm at a point I'm not going to install my Nero Ultimate 6 on my new computer. I've replaced it with some free job specific burning programs which take care of my burning needs. The rest of my info stays on HHD's (internal / external) and flash drives.
Over the past 9 months bought two of these for my teenage sons (from this supplier). They have not been able to break them yet. If you prefer Newegg (I do), but they ask more for the same item.
