First thought .....

Are you showing 'Hidden files & Folders'?

Have you run Disk Cleanup and 'Compressed old files'?

Have you encrypted any files/folders?

Compressed/encrypted files show up in blue - this can be changed in Tools > Folder Options > View - Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in colour'

Text is turning blue no longer!

Thanks Pete, THAT'S IT, I HAD JUST RECENTLY COMPRESSED OLD FILES. I WENT TO TOOLS, LIKE YOU SAID, AND UNCHECKED "SHOW COMPRESSED FILES IN COLORS". WORKED LIKE A CHARM, ALL BACK TO BLACK. THANKS AGAIN, Jim
