Mission Statement

I have installed some Microsoft updates which are shown as installed in the Add or Remove Programs list and also shown as installed by the Belarc Advisor. In addition, the updates appear in the registry.
However, if you take a look at the log file below (for example) for one of the updates it seems to me that the log file might be telling a different story.
So I’m not sure if the updates have been installed.

When you say that you "downloaded the updates individually", did you do this through the Windows Update site? If you go to the Windows Update site and check your update history, does it mention that an update was not installed or that there was some error?
I did the udates through the Microsoft website. Although I haven't checked the updates history.
Also something which I should have added to my post is the when I installed the update the Windows Install Wizard said that the update along with the other updates have been installed successfully.
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-044 lists the files & version numbers that are changed by this update (under Security Update Information), so you can compare.
