I have just had to reinstall windows xp from my recovery disc due to pc resetting itself. I tried everything I could think of to sort original problem but nothing worked hence the fresh install. All seemed to be going ok with the windows updates BUT now I am trying to install SP2 and i get the error message: Setup cannot copythe file tsoc.dll

It also says: Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and insert 'Windows XP Service Pack 2 Source Files' in the drive you specify.

Then under that i have: Copy files from: (Then a drop down menu that contains 2 options)

    C:\WINDOWS\SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION\DOWNLOAD\16B2C96A0C41F4DFDB4D3CC228A4F819
    OR
F:\ (which is my cd drive)

I have the option to retry, cancel or browse...

Trying Retry i get the same message again

Have not tried to do anything else because I want the install to go where it is ment to go....

Have tried looking on windows site with no joy at all to help me in this matter!

Can anyone help please as my brain is starting to FRY!!!!!!!:mad:

ARGHHHHHH. I downloaded as instructed but now getting the error as before but with the code: setupqry.dll

Could there be a problem with my registry files ????

Is there any way to sort this please.
