I am sorry if I have placed this thread in the wrong area.
You see, I can't get my computer to allow me to have a desktop image.
I would go into my pictures and I would click, 'Set as desktop image' and nothing would come up. I went into display properties and when I would click on the desktop button it would show me a list of my picture file names (I noticed that the ones they had listed I had mostly deleted off my pictures, over time.)
but, it would not allow me to click them. I also noticed that one of my desktop images would show up but, only flicker as it turned on and shut down. Leaving me with a gray screen. (I changed it to neon green.)
I saw someone elses thread about this but I could not find the website (Error 404) from the link or a google search.
It might have been effected by me removing/adding spywear softwear, or just messing with the settings? I love any advice.
    Thank you for your time.

Go to Control Panel>Display>Desktop tab and click on the Customize Desktop button.

In the window that opens, go to the Web tab. Uncheck everything there, click OK.

See if you can then change the Desktop background.

The symptoms you describe are often the result of spyware infestation.
