Computer Sudden Shutdown BLACKSCREEN

    ahm yeah so i bought this pc like last month ago.. and now it keeps on shutting down for no reason at all.. i tried moving the CPU to allow more ventelation.. Still it shuts down.. It shuts down randomly.. before i can go up to 6 hrs.. and just this day, only 2 hrs and it shuts down.. when it shuts down i try to turn it on again but it wont. so i have to wait again.. can somebody help me??

    ALSO, i think its weird but my XP doesnt have diskcheck? @_@ XP Pro SP 2.. i really need help im quite a newbie.. thanks

    The best advice I can give you is to return the computer under warranty as it is so new.

    There are a number of possible causes - overheating, faulty PSU (Power Supply Unit) or other hardware problems.
    You are looking for chkdsk ...

    Start > Run > cmd > Enter

    At the prompt change to the C:\ drive - cd\ > Enter

    At the C:\ prompt type chkdsk /r > Enter and accept the message to run at the next boot. Reboot. Note the space in chkdsk /r

    Ic, but the thing is I lost the warranty receipt of my pc. T_T I have yet to contact them if i could still ask them to check on it.

    Could it also be done by a virus if ever?

    Hey Tomoe,

    Contact the place of purchase and they should be able to reprint you a receipt. Especially, if you only purchased it a month ago.
