Question Motherboard fried installed old drive new PC lost Documents & Settings

I installed my old drive as secondary after it would not boot in my new PC. All of my files that were in the Windows generated My Documents directory disappeared.
There is a directory on the old drive, with my name and a string of gobgook, that I recall was the base directory that held all of the missing directories and files, but Windows denies me access to it.
This is four years of pictures, videos and other stuff I'd like to retrieve. Any solution would be appreciated. Muchos Gracias. TW
