Disabled Update Icon

    dear sir,
    i have disabled window update option. but its red icon always lie at notification area. is there any way to get rid of that.

    Maybe someone will point you to a solution, I wouldn't know (& am not interested in it), but my suggestion would be to set Automatic Updates to Notify me but don't automatically download or install them.

    Open Control Panel > Security Center > Change The Way Security Center Alerts Me > and untag the box labeled "Automatic Updates" and click OK.

    That will get rid of the nag icon.
