:( 3 days ago, I downloaded nTune and ran it. It really made a difference in my computer speed. However, now when I boot up, the nVidia control panel pops up, opened to "rotate display ". Short of turning off nvwiz.exe in msconfig, is there a way to stop this?

Are there any sort of settings and or an "options" section to help out?

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

I would try reinstalling the nVidia "control panel ". Look at the drivers available at the website of the graphics card manufacturer (nVidia only make the chipset). Any updated drivers/software there will probably be the best for your model (getting the lastest version from nVidia may be too modern for your model).

Something is not working correctly (maybe a registry key has been scrambled).

It seems like you were having problems before. The nTune might be giving you a "workaround" to a problem that is still there.

I would look at reinstalling so that the control panel is "fresh ", but considering that there are things not working correctly, they may get worse.

If you want to uninstall the drivers/software, boot into Safe Mode and go to Add or Remove Programs, BUT consider that things could go pear-shaped and be prepared for the worst (back up your data).

Graphics are the most complex drivers in the system. I tread very carefully if they are not performing properly.

    Matt
