Windows Update failing to install Outlook Junk Email Filter

Hi, for the last couple days Windows Update has been trying to install a Outlook Junk Email Filter. It has failed everytime. The update notifier is still sitting in the taskbar. Should I just ignore?

Hi Petec: I should have mentioned I have tried the other solutions from the other threads but to no avail. Yes I do have Outlook installed. Office 2003 was installed when I bought the pc so I don't have the cd.

So you have Outlook as your default mail program?

 

Hi, I've tried the fix on every thread here regarding this issue. (There was one I dared not to attempt) It's weird, this Outlook update refuses to work while other updates go through fine.

Hi Arie: I did a search for both of those files and found them in c:\program files\Microsoft Office But if they are already installled why is the Windows Update shield still sitting in the tastbar?

Hi Arie: Not too sure what I'm to do now I used that link and the OGTOOL. It says The product key used to install Office has been blocked by Microsoft. I bought this pc with Office 2003 already installed.

Arie: thanks for all your help. I just got off the phone with the retailer. When I mentioned my ver of Office 2003 Pro. was found not to be Genuine he asked how I know. I simply said I've done alot of checking. He then said it was a $600 program. Was a freebee when I bought the system. Told, Office does'nt need updates only XP. Told to ignore the update & the yellow sheild.

Then how do I get that yellow shield out my task bar?
