Welcome to WindowsBBS Old Goat :)

That error is associated with Earthlink TotalAccess. Are you using Earthlink or did you recently uninstall it?

    Thanks for the reply.

This is my first experience with WindowsBBS.com and I really didn't know what to expect. Yes, yesterday I uninstalled and then reinstalled Earthlink Total Access at the direction of one of their technical assistants. The Total Access system had evidently become corrupted and was kicking me off their system at inconvenient moments. So, what can I do to fix the problem that I'm having? My guess is that another uninstall and a reinstall would have the same result.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. In reading web posts elsewhere, it looks like I might have to do something to change the registry - a little scary!

Earthlink has a tutorial written up just for this problem, and yes, there is some registry editing involved. If you're not up to editing the registry, I can write a reg file for you to automate the process.

    Thanks, Dave!

I think I'll let Earthlink take care of this one. The previous uninstall/reinstall was handled by them with remote access to my computer but we lost the phone connection before finalizing so maybe that has something to do with the current problem.

The Earthlink tutorial looks straightforward so I'll try it first.

    Again, thanks for your help.
