Windows Defrag disapeared

    I cannot get windows defrag to work.All i get is a blank command prompt window that flashes on then off.Any help appreciated:confused: Its not even showing up in system tools.

    Hi murphy2006.

    Run Defrag from Start:

    Start > Run > C:\windows\system32\dfrg.msc > OK

    You can make a shortcut with this and put it in your Start menu so you always have fast access to it.

    It says windows cannot find this and its not listed on system info.

    Look for dfrg.msc using Explorer Search. Configure Search to Search System Folders and Search hidden files and folders. These option checkboxes appear by clicking More Advanced Options. Set you search root folder to be C:\WINDOWS .
