    Hi guys,

i'm new here and i'd like to know if someone can help me with this problem

    i have this computer
    P4 1.6
Mother VIARAMA u8548 with Chipset VIA VT8753A P4X266A
with 2 128mb ram slots and 1 free slot
when i add a new 512mb i get a blue screen when xp tries to boot even in safe mode

one of the blue screens says

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    STOP: 0X00000050 (0XF7527208,0X00000000,0XE74D67F9,0X00000000)

and the file that gives the error is dmio.sys

    and the other blue screen...

    STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005,0XF74EB7FE,0XF7946394,0XF7946094)

    that's with ACPI.SYS

I'm getting this even if I try to use only the 512mb memory stick

If it only happens when the new module (512Mb) is installed, it is most probably an incompatibility between the RAM and the motherboard. You could run the diagnostics in my signature on it, they should tell you if the RAM is compatible for Windows.
