What is and do you have lsdelete.exe and do any of you have it?

This has popped recently on a few malware cleanups I have done for my clients.

A Google, Dopile and Copernic search finds references to this file in HJT logs etc but it is never referenced as a problem or even comented on.

    Is located in \windows\system32
    It is attached to Winlogon
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify

Renamed the file on 2 different computers and they made no complaints about it alt all.

    OK Mystry solved!

It came back after I renamed it so I delved deeper and found it came in with Ad-Aware2007 Beta update.

    Must stand for LavaSoft Delete.

So it is not a bad file, and that is all I need to know!

So hope this helps in Malware and HJT diags.

Yes, lsdelete.exe is a Lavasoft file. Lsdelete.exe is related to Lavasoft Boot Cleaner.
