Trying to install Microsoft's User Profile Hive Cleanup Service from the MS website and it said that it couldn't install because another program was being installed... like an installation is hung up or something. How do I clear the hung installation?

Well, I tried the cleanp utility, but got the same mesage: "Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one. "

I'm don't know what version of Windows the poster in the above referenced thread had, but my registery entry only went to "...\Microsoft\Windows\ ". There was no "...\Installer" entry. I fished around that area of the regestry but could not pick up an entry that had "...\Installer\InProgress" in it. I'm sure there is a regestry entry(s) that has me stuck... just can't find it.

Following the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\INSTALLER, under the expanded INSTALLER folder there is no InProgress entry. I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this problem.:(
