Red face

screensaver won't start

I am running windows XP SP2 and have tinkered with various screensaver downloads lately and now the screensaver will not start automatically at all.

I can use the Acez screensaver quick launch to start it, but I'd rather it start automatically.

There are 2 other accounts on our computer (home) and their screensavers start just as they are supposed to. Just not the one on my account.

I've checked other forums for a solution but none of the advice seems to pertain to what I'm experiencing.

Is there anyone out there that can explain the problem and possible solution in simple terms or step by step instructions any idiot (like me!) can understand and follow?

I'd appreciate any and all assistance.

P.S. I am using a logitech wireless mouse but it has never caused any problems before and it doesn't cause problems on the other 2 accounts

Question

screensaver won't start

OK, I read a few postings and discovered a program to check anything that may be running that is fooling my screensaver. I used "End it all" and narrowed down the problem.

I have an anti spam filter (Spamhilator) installed and the problem appears to be that.

However, I've had this program installed for 2 years and it never affected the screensaver before, so what gives?

Since installing Spami, my Windows XP screensaver won't start after the designated time. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Disabling the "Status Window" in Spami's settings should do the trick.
From the faq's on this page.
