Passwords not saved

I have Windows XP Home ED. It will not save Passwords. It asks to do it, and I say yes, but when I reopen the application again, It asks again for the password. It also asks again to save. Please advise. One more thing, Is there a link to IE 6 Autocomplete also not working????

 

What sort of passwords? Your dial-up information? Or something else?

Outlook Express 6, All accounts (3), Ebay (this might be a IE 6 problem).

 

Password Problem Fixed

The Password Problem is FIXED, Had to go to regedit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Protected Storage System Provider/S-1-5-nn-nnnnnnnnn-nnnnnnnnn-nnnnnnnn-nnnn. Delete this entry and reboot. Problem gone. Hopefully this might help someone else.

 

I had the same problem and after poking around, found the same solution. My box is an HP laptop, and I understand the problem is limited to HP products. HP tech support pointed me to a Microsoft page (they blamed the problem on Windows and said they couldn't help with the Registry fix, but could show me what MS recommended), and I tried it, but it didn't work. Ultimately, I ended up deleting the file MS said to change, and it worked.

Not just HP. Mine is a Sony GRX Series. It was good to see, I was not the only person to see this.
