    DVD burn software

(I hope it's OK to tag this simple Q onto this thread)....
I'm brand new at this DVD thing, and naiively thought I could 'drag 'n' drop from one DVD to my hard drive, then the same back to a virgin DVD+RW disc.... obviously I cannot. My Q is: does XP Home Edition have DVD burn sw inbuilt, or , as I suspect, must I download other sw?.. and secondly, what is the recommendation for the software to use? Thanks.

Neither XP Home nor XP Pro has inbuilt DVD burning software, only for CD's. I have a feeling that Vista incorporates DVD burning, but that is some way off.

I would recommend Nero which I have used for some years and have burnt several thousand CD/DVD's with it. A trial version available here.

BTW - would have been preferred to start a new thread on this, but ..... :)

Thanks PeteC - have looked at the Nero site and contacted them to see which of their many products I need... didn't start a new thread as was previously admonished for doing so and my Q seemed so simple.. thanks again.
