    Hi,

I am running a Windows Server 2003 domain with the majority of clients using Windows XP Professional.

Most of the time, the logon process completes fine - however, on random occasions on most PCs, when logging on as a domain user, I get the following error:

"Windows cannot load the locally stored profile because the file is in use by another process" - it then loads a temporary profile.

This is entirely random - i see no pattern to the error, but it only affects domain users, rather than admins.

    Anyone have any idea?

EDIT: The file that is 'in use' is ntuser.dat.
