Can't repair w-xp from install disk

I have had several problems with w-xp and decided to try and do a repair with the install disk (genuin) It will stop and say "The w-xp on your comp, is newer than the disk" Is this because of having SP2 installed?

The answer is yes.

The way to get around this problem is to slipstream XP and SP2 and create a bootable CD incorporating SP2.

I hear you but I think worth a shot. You won't be doing any damage - the CD creation process will either work or not and at worst you spent time.

Old creeky, you don't have a "system" now, so

sounds like the way to go


You have a blank "canvas ", you can put on it anything you want to try.


...and wipe it off if you are not happy.
