slow speed after upgrading win98 to winxp on p3

plz help me out .i have upgraded win 98 to win xp on my desktop and now my comp. runs very slow...plz help me out!!

Which CPU (MHz/GHz) and how much RAM? (Click Start, right-click My Computer and select Properties, look on the bottom right of the General tab).

thnx for the reply steve..my chipset is intel 82810 and i downloaded intel graphics controller 6.4.1 from the internet after upgradation but when i tried installing it ,i got a message that "a newer version of graphics controller is already loaded" so i stopped installation..
now what should i do?

With that configuration it will run slow. Read the XP minimum system requirements and you will find you are way under-resourced.. Your choices would be to go back to W98 or preferably upgrade your system..

If you upgrade the ram to atleast 128MB, preferably 512MB or more, it'll perform OK.
