By not working, do you mean when you select different wallpaper in the display properties it doesn't change or is that part of the display properties greyed out so you're unable to select anything different?

If it's the first one, right click on the desktop and choose properties>desktop and click on the customize desktop button. Then click on the web tab and make sure the line that says lock desktop items isn't checked. If it is, remove the check in the box and then see if things are different.

I'm still not sure which part I'm right about. :) If you try to change your wallpaper, are you able to select new wallpaper or is it greyed out so you can't select anything?

billyboxer - I don't see any other posts by you on the BBS - so, fill us in on the details please.

What malware and how did you remove it?

Try downloading and running the reg file on this page. Line 142, right side.

    Allow Wallpaper/Background Changes

Save it to your hard drive and double click on it to run it.
