My desktop icons have all turned black. I do not experience any other display problems. How can I restore the original look?

Hi dtcarroll, welcome to the WindowsBBS!

Go to your \Local Settings\Application Data folder. It's in Documents and Settings\your usarname\.

Now delete the file IconCache.db. You'll need to have Windows Explorer set to Show hidden files and folders.

After you delete the file, restart your computer.
