I just completed a non-destructive recovery. Afterward I find that whenever I start up I get a 'Common Folder' that appears on my desktop. I don't know what this is or what I should do to get rid of it (or correct the problem.)

Also, another little problem - I can't see all of my programs on the All Program list under Start because they go too far to the right of the screen. Is there some way to bring them out where I can see them?

I am running Windows XP SP2 on an HP Pavilion desktop. Any help would be appreciated.

Right off hand I'm not sure about the common folders. However for the start menu program, try setting your display resolution a notch or two higher. This will cause things to be smaller so I don't know if you'll like it or not. Give it a try. You can always change it back. Right click on the desktop>properties>settings. Where it says screen resolution, increase it by sliding the slider a notch to the right. Click apply. If that's not enough try increasing it a bit more.

Thanks, unfortunately the slide was already all the way to the right.

What was the resolution set at? Perhaps an updated driver would enable you set it higher. Since you did the "recovery ", do things look larger on the monitor then they did before?
