Talking Window Xp Autorun Cd Feature Not Able To Enable

how to enable autorun feature for running CD on inserting in dvd drive] IN window xp Had tried no value data 95 00 00 00 in regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

Change to value of 'Autorun', or create a new DWORD value if it doesn't exist: (0=disable, 1=enable)

feed back for autorun enabling

Had tried tip to modify regedit but is not working , on R.H.S noted autorun Dword value 1 , also noted autorunalways disable folder showing different make of cdrom is it required to modify this ?

If your PC thinks you have a different brand of CD drive than you really have, I would expect problems.

Sorry but can't figure out a meaning for "R.H.S noted autorun" or "autorun always disable folder".

First thing I would try is to get the latest drivers for the device then remove it (from safe mode) and see how a reinstall works using the new drivers.

Also - is your CD on the list of hardware XP likes?

Thanks for your reply and effort , had also mailed u seperately, R.H.S means right hand side of regedit deskscreen which appears when I click link sugggested by u of CDROM .
MY dvdrom is pioneer and is on list . but I also see autorundisable always on right clicking and choosing modify it shows all makes of dvd/cd rom drives from which one of them is mine .following appears

default reg-sz valu data 1
Autorun reg-dwd 0x00000001(1)
Autorun always disable NEC, MBR-7NEC,PIONEER etc....

At this point, I think an email to tech support for the device would be in order. They may have done something strange.
