That generally happens when you change the "name" of the computer. Changing it back will make the message go away.

To clear some things up. You mean the server name is the same? Are you trying to reinstall?

This seems to be related to your other post so I merged the two threads together. Much less confusing that way. :)

Anything shown in your event logs? (Start > Run > eventvwr.msc)

You need to click on them to see any events in them. Either single click on one in the left pane or double click on one in the right pane. If there is an error related to this it'll either be in the application or system part. My guess is that it would be under application but if there's nothing there, check the system one. Look for an event that says error under the "type" column. Errors will have an icon of a red circle with a white x in it.

Double click on an error to see its contents. In the window that opens you'll see two buttons that have arrows on them in the upper right corner. Just below that is a button that has what looks like two pieces of paper on it. You can click on that button to copy the contents of the event to the clipboard and then paste it into a post here.

If the error occurs while it's booting to windows, it might be best to restart your computer and once it's back up and running check the event viewer immediately. This way if there is an error for it, it will be near the top of the list and easy to find.

So you'll need to fix your SQL server install.

    According to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/195759/en-us
