I was advised to download TweakUI from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx but it only downloads to 223 kb, not the advertised 224. And it does not run. I get the error message "file is not a valid win32 application ".
Can anyone suggest a way to get this power toy to run, or if not, how I can change settings to enable me to view images in thumbnail view larger than the default.
    Thanks in advance,
    B

There are two on the link you posted. Tweak UI & Tweak UI for Itaniumâ„¢-based systems. You need the other one.

i THINK that the latest tweakui may require sp2 as well.

Thanks! Finally downloaded the correct one and ... what now? There's no extra option in Explorer to change the size of thumbnails? What's the trick?

But where? Having installed TweakUI, what do I do next? Explorer's thumbnails look the same as ever and I can't see an option to enlarge them, nor is there anything new in Program FIles after installing TweakUI.

Thanks Pete. I wish my screen looked like yours. This is what I get, and when I click the .exe it just asks me to manually locate tweakui.exe: http://i1.tinypic.com/s3nggi.jpg

Steve. My Tweakui is the same way as Boppy's. The shortcut in the start menu always loses the exe. In fact, in the end I just deleted the folder for it in the start menu. I've never figured out what causes this though. If I show it where it the exe is it seems to be good for a while and then a few days later it's messed up again. Odd but that's the way it is. Just thought I'd mention this so Boppy knows he/she's not alone. :)

The exe for it is in the system32 folder so my solution to this is to simply click start>run and type tweakui. It should start for you then. Or, if you prefer you can put a link to it in the control panel by going here and downloading xp_addtweakui.zip. I've done this too and it seems to stick for me. Either of these two methods should get it running for you. You can also try showing the shortcut where Tweakui.exe is but I wouldn't guarantee it'll stick for very long (been there, done that).

Thanks guys - I have it working on my home PC but not the work one - both are XP with SP2. I'll try Zander's suggestion when I get back to the office on Monday.
    Cheers

Nope - no sign of the .exe in my system32 directory. I can't uninstall it either - clicking on programs/uninstall just hangs the computer.
I'm going to do a system rollback. When I attempt to reinstall teakui, shall I do it as myself or as administrator?

You need administrative rights to install it and if you want to make the changes for all users you must also have admin rights to make system wide changes.
