When I power on, I see my icons and the start key... then, they disappear... I can go to run... msconfig and change my startup settings to selective and can disable a file called IPMON32 and restart in selective and everything is "normal "... but I do not know how to permanently remove the IPMON32 file. I have been working with HP and have tried everything... I have no virus... one computer is brand new.. all I had added onto the new computer was my SBCDSL and MSOffice... I do not have MSOffice on my "older" computer... SO... After running a million tests... HP Said I should go to my control panel and delete any software that has/says "Verison "... But I couldn't find any programs that mentioned the word Verison... This is what I can see under configuration settings: STARTUP ITEM IS IPMON32 - COMMAND IS "c:programFilesVisu.... and LOCATION IS HKLMsoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentver.... so of course I let HP know that I didn't see anything with Verison... and now I guess I'm on my own.. I can reload the operating system... but since it happened brand new... I know it will come back once I load SBCDSL ... I think it has something to do with that... but SBC has not been much help.... they put me thru canned hoops and don't really get that I have isolated the problem... I just don't know how to fix it. As long as I startup in selective mode.... I'm ok... but it bugs me that it won't startup in "normal mode" and work.... I also notice, that when starting up in normal mode... just before the startup icons and start key disappear... SBC Self Support Tool Flashes in the toolbar by the start key for a second or two before the screen clears ... :p

    IPInSightMonitor,.............. this is the IPMON32

i have verizon's DSL service, and i had to uninstall this program as it was causing an error pop up on my screen whenever i wanted to open up my control panel.

after some searching, Microsoft mind you, said to un-install this. when i did, all was grand.

now, get this, i too have "2" pc's, they are both (of course) connected to a router, and what else.........? each has the verizon DSl software.

go and uninstall the IP INSIGHT, it should be in your list of programs (start, programs, etc). this IP INSIGHT is only a diagnostic tool for verizon, and believe me, when you call for tech support, you're only going to get hooked up with "Robert" from India, or Pakistan anyhow.

you have SBC DSL.....correct....?? same program.

    I think I got it...

I have IPCLIENT and I it's the only thing close.... I solved my mystery but it is very embarrassing... I just wanted to start up "NORMAL" ... It never dawned on me that I don't have to startup "NORMAL" and being "SELECTIVE" is so much better... I got rid of the same informational message that used to come up every time my computer booted in selective mode.... to let me know it was in selective mode.... and now... all is well... I disabled both IPCLIENT AND IPMON32 and everything is fine... the sad thing is that the solution was so simple... nobody could identify it for me! I literally spent hours working on this and screwing things up and having to fix this and that.... I am very happy to have found this website and will certainly turn here before wasting my time with the paid experts! :-/ Thanks everyone!
