I have an HP Pavillion laptop which, suddenly, will not start. It was working fine, then one day would not start... it would get to the black screen with the Windows logo and loading bar and then never get off of it.
I didn't use my computer for quite some time and then for some reason I was able to start it up one day and use it for a week or two.
Yesterday, I restarted my machine, and now I have the same problem... gets to black load screen, stays there.
I can get it to start up in safe mode, but I don't know how to fix it from there.
Any thoughts or ideas on this matter would be helpful.

    Hello Triene,

Go into msconfig and disable the startup programs:

Start > run > type msconfig > ok > startup tab.

Disable the startups - uncheck boxes - and run and reboot into normal mode, then recheck a startup, and repeat the process one be one. Chances are one of those startups is causing the problem, either with drivers or with a basic conflict.

That first reboot into normal mode with all startups disabled will tell you whether or not that's problem.

    Regards - Charles
