Helping a friend running Win XP set up as Classic Windows. There are several documents from My Documents folder showing on the Task Bar along with
My Documents in faint blue text. The documents showing seem to be those most recently saved in My Documents.

How to get rid of this? My Documents folder is in it's proper place in Documents and Settings.

Sounds like you've made a "My Documents" toolbar. Right click on the Light Blue "My Documents" on the taskbar and select "close toolbar ", or right click on the taskbar and from popup scroll to "toolbars" and uncheck the My Documents toolbar.

If there is no "My Documents" icon on the desktop you can add this plus others via:
How do I put the My Documents folder back on my desktop?
    *Click Startbutton,
    *Click on the Control Panel.
    *Choose Display Properties,
    *Choose the Desktop tab.
*Click on the Customize Desktop button.
    *Check the My Documents box.
The My Documents folder icon should now appear on the desktop.

That just may be the problem. I'll give it a try today and post back.

You're right; it was a toolbar on the taskbar. It's gone now. Thanks.
