Question DVD not playing - properly

Hi guys,

I was trying to play a DVD on my computer and I was confronted with the following problem: Everytime i try to play the DVD with powerDVD it won't work (everytime i push play NOTHING happens) also when i try to play the DVD with Windows Media Player or even RealPlayer, it will go REALLY FAST and play with no sound. This happens with any DVD i play, there is no sound and the video will play in fast forward. The speed of playback is adjusted to nomal but still, i get this problem. Anyone know what i should be doing?

Thanks!

My System

First off try uninstalling the DVD player through Device Manager and reboot to let Windows find it again.

Do other DVDs play normally and just this one misbehaves?
Or is this the first time you tried to play a DVD on your computer?
Or does this apply to any and all DVDs?

More information please.

Also, can you tell us your processor and speed, RAM , and graphics card?
Everest a free system analysis tool will tell you if you do not know.
