    Hey all,

I get this error message infrequently when I attempt to shut down. I googled for the error message and found an article stating it was part of Veritas Update Manager (somehow connected with Stomp's BackUpMyPC, which I have). Couldn't find Veritas in Add/Remove Programs list (that's what was recommended). Haven't used Stomp in quite awhile.

    Found the program file here:

    C:/Progam Files/VERITAS Software/Update Manager

Should I just delete the whole directory?

    WinXP SP2
    AMD Athlon XP 2600+
    1.92 Ghz
    1 Gig RAM

If you still have access to the install software, better to reinstall it and then try the removal. Deleting the folder may still leave a bunch of trash in the registry looking for files that aren't there any longer.

David Simmons--Look in Start|Run|type msconfig|OK|Startup tab. Do you find sgtray there? If so uncheck the box at the left|Apply. Next time you reboot, you will get a message about Msconfig. Check the box|OK.
This will prevent sgtray from starting at boot (and I doubt it will start even if you use Veritas). So you should not have to worry about it hanging at shutdown. I think it deals with Stomp or Veritas looking for Updates. You can do that by yourself manually.
