    Hello,

still not clear: microsoft faq describes the method for removing Windows Media Player 9 from computer (Win XP): "Use System Restore in Windows. Windows Media Player 9 Series will be removed and the previous version of the Player will be restored." But I dont need revert to an earlier version of WMP, I need just prepare system for installation WMP 10.0

    thanks

You can't remove the base WMP files - only the access to a WMP version - like IE, which you can't totaly remove either. So if you want to totally remove 9, you can't.

If upgrading goes wrong, then you have a method of reverting back.

    Regards - Charles

With Windows XP, I rarely uninstall a previous version of anything. I only do so if the instructions say to do it. I've never had any problems.
